The Florida Triple Crown Roadeo combines the FPTA and RTAP roadeos into a single, colossal weekend featuring Florida’s best paratransit and fixed route bus operators and maintenance technicians. Please note: The Paratransit Division will only include cutaway buses and the Paratransit Maintenance competitions.
The annual event is a joint effort of the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA), the Florida Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP), the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and the Florida Association of Coordinated Transit Systems (FACTS), and hosted by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA).
The Roadeo offers training opportunities for the contestants, as well as skills testing with a written test and on-course driving competition for operators. The maintenance technicians will face similar challenges with a written test and a series of diagnostic module tests.
The event ends with an Awards Banquet that will crown and recognize our champions in the paratransit cutaway division, the fixed route bus division, paratransit maintenance technician and fixed route maintenance technicians’ team competitions.
